The value of an International perspective

I came to the United States when I was 28 years old, determinate to learn to speak English fluently. After 12 years of complete immersion in American culture, I’ve achieved that goal and much more! I’ve developed a keen international perspective that enables me to communicate across cultures effectively and adapt to different environments.

Harvard University- Concentration 2004 - 2004
ESL, Harvard University Extension School

Completed an Intensive English Program at one of the world's premier universities. The curriculum focused on discussion and writing about multicultural and global issues in English. We were encouraged to consider various perspectives, develop an appreciation for each other’s differences, and arrive at measured conclusions.

Universidade São Francisco- Concentration 1997 - 2001
Law School Program

Completed an intensive five year law degree program in São Paulo, Brazil. My training program focused on legal contracts, procuration (power of attorney) and criminal justice. Two-year internship specializing in LEP (Executional Penalty Law) at the Brazilian Correctional Department. One-year internship specializing in reviewing home buy/sellers program contracts from CEF (Caixa Econômica Federal), one of the biggest lenders of money for homeowners in Brazil.

Work closely with the President & CEO to develop and accomplish goals and strategic plans established by executives of the Company. Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of the organization. Lead international banking administration; allocation of resources between international offices, including Brazil, Germany, Switzerland and USA. Liaison with financial institutions to build/maintain/increase lines of credit. Manage international insurance policies and provide documentation for international sales coverage. Provide support for claims management for Brazil / USA offices and insurance companies such as Exim-Bank and Euler Hermes. Finance administration experience: QuickBooks online and Payroll administration.

Founded in 2010, Adventures in Brazil (AIB) is a tour company that offers passionate travelers an opportunity to experience the natural and cultural wonders of Brazil through the eyes of a native Brazilian. As Founder and Lead Tour Conductor, I was responsible for developing all aspects of the business. My experience includes creating and executing the company vision and strategy, development and implementation of market programs, driving product sales, and logistical management of tour programs and packages.

Office Service Clerk

Served as an office service team member to ensure that all packages and correspondences are sorted, received, tracked, delivered to all employees. Received, logged and sent communications by fax. Processed UPS, FedEx and USPS mail. Responsible for facilities set ups and equipment support, e.g., equipment inventory, copiers, maintaining Office Services files. Maintained equipment inventory facilities services. Serve as point of contact for client and staff requests for general assistance and information.

Throughout my career, I have worked in a diverse range of industries, from the biggest bank from Brazil to the largest law firm in United States.

I also have hands-on entrepreneurial experience; in 2010 I started my own business (Adventures in Brazil) and spent four years building a new company from the ground up.
